Would You Rather: Vape Edition

Would You Rather: Vape Edition

Let's play a game of Would You Rather.

Option 1: Listen to the outcry from our lovely journalists.

As I'm sure we've all seen, the vaping industry has been utterly under attack as of late. Now, even the Tr*mps are talking about the so-called 'epidemic' that is vaping.

The CDC has released multiple statements urging people to stop vaping amidst 5 deaths, and what they claim is 450 cases across the country of lung illnesses. What they're saying, and what a lot of people fail to realize, is that almost all of the cases came from young people who already had a severe lung illness - the likes of pneumonia - and continued to vape during their illness, causing it worsen.

On top of that, people who have purchased vape pods illegally from the 'black market' are finding mould in their pods, which is causing severe lung illnesses, as well as Spice, a synthetic form of cannabis that can be very dangerous. If you want to know more about Spice, you can read about it here.

Basically, the CDC is telling people to stop vaping immediately, until they can officially complete their investigation - one that has the potential to take years to finish.

Thus your option: quit vaping completely, and turn back to cancer sticks that kill about 500,000 people a year (a number provided by the CDC themselves).

Option 2: Think for yourself, understand your vape and your body, and trust your local shop.

The crucial thing to understand is that misinformation under the guise of fear tactics is what drives our journalism these days. When you read articles that condemn vaping from the title, and it takes you until the end of the article before you realize they've been talking about vaping dangerous and unsafe substances the entire time, you are being misdirected and misinformed.

You have to keep an open mind, and ensure you're getting the argument from both sides. If you have a cold, and it keeps getting worse the more you vape, consult your doctor. Understand your body and its limits.

Keep an eye out for journalists taking advantage of the unknown, and be sure to inform people of both sides of the argument before coming to conclusions about vaping.

If you need help, we got you. Here, here, and here are some awesome articles about the benefits of vaping versus smoking cigarettes. Not to mention, vapers in the UK are, and have been, perfectly safe

Thus you have your second option: keep vaping, and keep informing the misinformed to the best of your abilities.

So, would you rather Option 1, or Option 2? Let me know in the comments!
